Welcome to the West Coast Flyers

The West Coast Flyers is a social organization of gay, lesbian, transgender and gay-friendly straight folks that was founded in September, 2003. We had steady growth the first year hitting eighty members by our first anniversary.

We are based in the San Francisco Bay Area and have founding members from Portland to San Diego. Whether a student pilot with ten or fifteen hours, commercial pilot with twenty thousand hours, flight attendant or aircraft mechanic, all are welcome. Anyone with an involvement, or interest, in commercial or general aviation is encouraged to check out our website and consider joining us at one or our events. If you have any questions use the Contact link to the left and email us.

Our monthly dinner meeting is held in San Francisco or on the Peninsula the first Monday of every month. The primary purpose is to enjoy the company of other aviation enthusiasts and to network amongst ourselves. In addition we schedule at least one monthly flying event.

We have speakers quarterly on subjects such as weather, the ATC function, mountain flying, engine management, medical factors and other subjects that relate to aviation.

PLEASE NOTE: To join the group please click on the "Enrollment Form" under Main Menu to the left. After that you can click on sign me up and you will receive access to the remainder of the website. Clicking on Sign me up under User Functions before the "Enrollment Form" link won't work.

		2774 Reads While I am bad about these articles on the home page I do try to keep the calendar up to date with scheduled events. Although with that said our events are frequently spur of the moment with sometimes only a days notice so either watch it regularly and join us or sign up and get on our mailing list. 		1215 Reads Well as the web mistress I have been remiss at keeping the website up BUT that doesn't mean we are dead in the water. We have a dinner generally the first of every month and try for at least one flying event a month. Frequently we have several in a month weather permitting. If you need a fun group to fly with then come to one of our events and decide for yourself if we are the drama free group you seek!

If you aren't on our email list considering clicking the Enrollment Form link on the left or be sure to watch the calendar. Events are frequently added with just a day or two notice depending on how the weather looks. As soon as Mother Nature decides to move on with the rain we will get some more events posted. 		5793 Reads It has been a busy beginning to 2005. Following the successful New Years Eve party at Michael and Lonnie’s we had day trips to Auburn, Columbia, Harris Ranch and Watsonville. We have several new members several of which joined us at one of more of the day trips. We spent three days in Death Valley and an additional week in Puerto Vallarta. We haven’t let all the rain get us down and have been getting up and away at every opportunity. 310 Comments

		6024 Reads Our Christmas party hosted by Michael and Lonnie is barely behind us and they are at it again. Our hosts have decided to throw a New Years Eve party and have invited the group to join the festivities. If you have been to one of thier parties in the past you already know how lively things can get at Michael and Lonnie's. The munchies will be piled high, the champagne will be flowing and the clothing optional hot tub open for business. If you are a member you received an invitation Christmas evening.
